Complete Higher Computing Science prelim paper (80 marks, 2 hours).
The question paper covers both Section 1 (55 marks) and the optional Sections 2 and 3 (Section 2 DDD, 25 marks; Section 3 WDD, 25 marks).
Section 1 (mandatory) will allow candidates to demonstrate their breadth of knowledge and understanding from the course and problem solving abilities in Software Development and Computer Systems. In Sections 2 and 3 a choice is offered. Section 2 provides an opportunity for them to use their knowledge to demonstrate their problem solving skills when faced with questions in the context of Database, Design and Development. Similar challenge is offered in Section 3 for those choosing Web Design and Development.
This question paper is carefully balanced and closely emulates the national standard. The paper appropriately samples from the full course to help generate valid, reliable and robust estimates. The detailed marking scheme gives likely candidate responses and full guidance on marks allocations.
