Complete Higher Drama Prelim Paper (50 marks, 2 hours 30 minutes).

This pack contains a question paper and marking key. All 3 sections are included – Section 1 (Theatre Production: Text in Context, 20 marks), Section 2 (Theatre Production: Application, 10 marks) and Section 3 (Performance Analysis, 20 marks).

In Section 1 candidates will be asked to comment on the social, historical and/or theatrical contexts of their studied prescribed text. They will be asked to demonstrate knowledge of how the text can be interpreted from the point of view of an actor, director or designer and performed to an audience. In Section 2 candidates will be asked to answer structured
questions from the perspective of two production roles on their selected text. In Section 3 candidates will answer one from a choice of two questions and be asked to provide a written analysis of a recent performance they have seen.
